LUCY’S FINE ART JOURNEY

Lucy is a self-taught pastel artist based in North Dorset, UK, where she lives with her partner, son, and three cats. She has loved creating artwork from a young age and went on to earn a BA (Hons) degree in Art and Design at university, first working in acrylics before discovering her true passion for soft pastels. Her journey into the medium began after visiting a wildlife realism exhibition, which inspired her to explore how animals could be brought to life on paper with depth and emotion.

Captivated by the richness of soft pastels, Lucy soon became hooked on their unique ability to capture fine textures and vibrant colour. Though she studied Art and Design formally, her pastel practice is entirely self-taught, allowing her to develop a personal style rooted in curiosity and dedication.

Beyond the joy of creating, Lucy’s work is driven by a desire to inspire a deeper connection with nature. Through her art, she hopes to spark appreciation and care for the wildlife that surrounds us.
