Commissions
A pet portrait commission is a special way to celebrate your beloved companion. I’ll work with you to capture their character and create a piece of art you can cherish forever.
1
Picking a photo
The first step is choosing a photograph of your pet, and this is the most important part of the process. A clear, high-quality photograph helps me capture the finest details and create the most accurate portrait. I'll use one main image to recreate your pet's exact pose, while additional photos will guide me in capturing their unique features and personality. The better the photograph, the more lifelike and true your portrait will be.
2
Agreeing on a composition
The next step is making sure you feel completely happy with how your portrait will come to life. For a single pet, this part is usually simple, but when more than one pet is included, I’ll carefully design a composition that brings them together naturally. I’ll share this with you so you can see how it will look and request any little changes until it feels just right.
3
Booking payment
To secure your booking I require a 20% deposit of the full amount. The easiest way to pay is via bank transfer and I can provide details for this. I can also use Paypal.
From there, I’ll begin the initial sketch - a gentle outline where your pet’s character starts to emerge - and I’ll send it to you for approval before moving on to the finer details.
4
Creating your portrait
I will create your portrait. The time it takes to finish the portrait will vary on size and composition, please let me know if it is for a special occasion and I will try to accommodate where possible.
4
Paying in full
Once I have completed your portrait, I will get in touch with you to make sure you are happy with the final portrait and to arrange payment in full and how we get the portrait to you.
